I’m Guillaume Larquemain, aka Guim.
In 2021, during lockdown, I founded “by Guim”: a high-end, apple canvas accessories brand. With 15 years of experience in design, I decided to define what my own vision of the future of luxury could be.
The entire collection is handcrafted in France. As an independant, I was often advised to try producing abroad. But my work is human-sized. I would rather collaborate with a “living heritage company”, which I have done with the cap for instance. This allows me to highlight the work of women and men with a unique Savoir-faire.
I believe the future is vegetal. This is why I explore emerging bio-materials as well as augmented reality. Highly influenced by Japan, the bonsai apple tree has become my symbol. My first bag was born from an innovation: to sew flexible wood with my signature material, apple canvas. My minimal design is aimed at modern citizens, in search of their own nature.
